Family & Individual Therapy
Amy offers several modalities of therapy, including family reunification therapy (court-ordered or private), general family therapy, and individual counselling in mental health.
Prior to opening her business, Amy specialised in mental health, working with clients of all ages and genders. Amy has worked with people who present within the spectrum of mild to highly complex mental health presentations and is trained in several focused psychological strategies. Amy also uses creative and expressive forms of therapy techniques, not to mention incorporating the adorable Pickles, the mini-groodle into sessions with clients who are interested.
NDIS Social Work
Apricity Therapy and Consultancy is proud to support NDIS participants with capacity-building social work services designed to enhance daily living skills, independence, and community participation.
Whether working with children, youth, or adults, we provide personalised guidance to help clients reach their goals. Our services also include early childhood support for children under nine and therapeutic services for those with established disabilities. Delivered locally and tailored to individual needs, our NDIS social work services make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.
Family Report Writing & Social Assessments
Apricity is the only family report and social assessment writing service based in the Gympie Region. As a social scientist, Amy offers specialised, expert forensic reports to help the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Queensland Children’s Court to make decisions that are in children’s best interests. These services are offered either privately or Legal-Aid funded.
Amy has the capacity to provide these services to families local to Gympie, throughout Queensland, and Australia-wide. The overarching goal is to prioritise safe and protective outcomes for children, while assisting families in navigating the complexities of parenting and child protection matters with professionalism and care.
Child-Inclusive Mediation
Apricity is the only service in the Gympie region that provides a child-inclusive approach to mediation. As a child & family consultant, Amy specialises in ensuring children’s voices are paramount to all decisions made in the parenting mediation process.
Child-inclusive mediation is a voluntary, evidence-based approach in family dispute resolution. In this process, Amy meets with the child(ren) to gather their views, wishes, experiences, and feelings. This practice supports parents in making informed, child-centred decisions about their child(ren)’s care arrangements.

Amy Covington, the founder of Apricity Therapy and Consultancy Services, is a highly experienced child and family consultant and mental health therapist dedicated to supporting clients with compassion and expertise.
Pickles - Therapy Dog
Meet Pickles, our lovable miniature Groodle puppy in training to become a certified therapy dog, offering comfort and support during NDIS and psychological therapy sessions.
